The Dodge-Eastman Development Authority assists companies in obtaining any necessary environmental permitting required from State and Federal agencies. For business permits within the City of Eastman, call 478-374-7721.
As part of the incentive package, the Dodge-Eastman Development Authority will coordinate with the various utility operators that serve the proposed site to provide the most aggressive pricing possible for utility services. (However, all prices are subject to standard cost of business increases or decreases, which are experienced in doing business and equally apply to all customers.) Once a Company’s specific utility requirements are known, specific and applicable firm rate quotes will be provided. Utilities, including water, sewer, gas and electric power will be made available in capacities required by your company.
Georgia’s Job Tax Credit provides state income tax credits on Georgia corporate income taxes for qualifying businesses that create and retain a minimum of two (2) or more new jobs. Per each new job created, a tax credit of $4,000 will be credited to the business for a period of five years, beginning from year two (2) through year six (6) with ability to carry forward for 10 years. The Development Authority will assist you as you work with State agencies and officials to ensure your new enterprise of qualified business expansion receives the proper credits as this program may be amended in the future.

No ad valorem property taxes will be assessed by Dodge County, the City of Eastman, or the State against a company’s inventory of raw materials, work-in-progress and finished products destined for shipment out of state.

Dodge County is designated as a Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) Zone through the U.S. Small Business Administration. The HUBZone program is a small business federal contracting assistance program. It provides participating small businesses located in areas with low income, high poverty rates, or high unemployment rates with contracting opportunities in the form of “set-asides,” sole-source awards, and price-evaluation preferences.
